    My "new" Smith 64-5

I finally got around to picking up my Smith 64-5 3". This thing is absolutely sweet! No lock, all forged parts, and it has about 100 rounds through it. I think I'm in agreement with the late Jeff Cooper that if everyone in the world were armed with one of these, we'd be a polite society.

This thing is about as perfect and simple a handgun as one could find for a new or novice shooter. I'm planning on letting my girlfriend get some good use out of it as she is still a new shooter, but dang, I love this thing.

    And of course:

The way a revolver should be...

Aw, NICE GUN! The 3" 64's are just pure functional goodness to the extreme.

I have been sorely tempted to pick up one of the recent 3" 64's from Robert's Trading Post, but they've got the lock (doesn't really bother me except aesthetically) and the two-piece barrel.

What I'd really like to get my talons on is the 2" 64-5 snubby to match my 10-5 square butt M10

      Congrats on a classic heater!

fantastic! I have a 64-5 4" and love shooting it, it's a great holster gun and feels good in the hand. I'm now jealous of your 3" model and it's wee little round butt.

A thing of beauty it is! I just love those short barreled wheel guns.

I might have to add one of those to my future acquisition list(like it's not long enough already).
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

That is such a nice pointing revolver. It is crying for a set of stag grips with S&W medallions. Get ahold of Patrick Grashorn (patrickgrashorn1874 at msn.com ). You should also add a polished aluminum Tyler T-grip adapter http://www.t-grips.com/ to it. It will be an classic look.

                    Thanks for all the compliments.

I thought about getting some fancy grips for it, but I think I like the simple working look it has going. I am thinking about sending it for some action work at Smith and Wesson Performance Center, but I think keeping it bone stock is probably going to be what happens.
