The wife tried my Glock 22

She never fired a handgun until yesterday. She is thinking about getting her own gun so I thought I would let her try my Glock. She was pretty scared but did a great job.

Next time I'll have her try some other guns. Probably a 9mm and a .38spl. If she likes the 9 I think a Glock 19 would be good.

Have her try the XD 9. My wife shot my glock 23 fine but the XD fit her hand better and helped bring her groups in quite a bit.

Take it from me..... She will outshoot you one day. My wife amazes me every time she goes to the range with me. It is nice to share the same hobbies with your wife. Until she goes to the range without you I have noticed a lot less tension though. We disagree about something, she grabs her guns and heads to the range. She gets back, I have a meal prepared for me How could you not like guns!?! (story will be in off-topic)

My wife shot all three of our new handguns last week... Sig P220R, Glock 19 g4 and HK P30 dao. She didnt like the 19 trigger, thought the P30's dao was a little odd too. She did like the Sig's trigger even tho it's a .45 - it was loaded with low power lswc's. So make sure she gets out a shoots one before the purchase or you just may end up with another handgun... well maybe thats not all bad

Why would you put a .40 in the hands of your wife as the first handguns she has ever fired? That is a horrible idea. Did you finisher her off with a .44 magnum? That target shows us nothing other than the disservice your doing to her, or any new shooter, by putting a full powered gun into untrained hands. Please, now that she has probably developed a nasty flinch, get here some proper training and start out on a .22 untill no shots are outside of that 10 ring.

i agree... .40 is definitely not a good choice for the first few shots in my opinion
