    Gifting a Firearm

    Hey guys....new to the forum so I thought I'd finally intro. myself. I just purchased my first handgun, a Sig P220, and I am currently going through the DROS process. 10 days seems like a lifetime!
    Now to my question:
    I live in Cali (obviously) but I would like to purchase an off the CA list firearm that is legal,where he lives, for my dad. Is this possible? If so, can any of you tell me about your experiences regarding this specific situation?

      First and foremost, welcome to Cal Guns and congratulations on your recent purchase....

      Yes you can buy a gun that is not on the list, you would have to buy from a fellow gun owner here in CA and it would be a ppt @ FFL... As far as shipping your gun overseas, I don't know...

          You can just pay for the firearm and have them shipped it to a FFL in your dad's area so he can DROS it.
