That all depends on things like whether or not you bathe them in gun cleaner, or how much abrasion they get... The material will last for years if taken care of and will remain infinitely rechargeable during that time.
Hope that helps!

?
Tritium "works for so long" because the tritium is actually undergoing radioactive decay. Half life is somewhere around 12 years. The tritium doesn't give off visible light; it's packaged along with phosphors. The phosphors are constantly being excited - or charged, if you will - by the decaying tritium. And that's why no external light source is needed. Lume remains until the tritium completely decays or the phosphors degrade.
Superluminova is completely dependent on an external light source, since it's essentially just phosphors.
The analogy? Superluminova requires someone to shine a light to charge it, while tritium capsules contain their own light source.

I received my Nitesiters today with 10% off from Dave.
8 dots in the package. The dots did glow very bright after I flash my Costco LED flash light on it. It was much brighter than my Trijicon from 2006 for a few minutes and stayed a little dimmer than the Trijicon for a long time after that. I lost track of time watching CSI. Will do a better review when I have more time.
The dots have adhesive backing for sticking to your sights. You will need flat surfaces for best result.
I am not sure how the adhesive will hold up when I fire the gun. I can still move the dot around on the sight surface after 3 hours of application.
If you don’t want to buy tritium night sights, this is the best solution.======Comment

Glad to hear they were received well Mike.
The dot will be able to move for over 3 hours after initially applying. The adhesive will cure in 2 days or so. The 'wiggle' will become less and less until the adhesive hardens or 'cures' completely.
I tested another batch last night... I kept them under my end table lamp for 10 to 15 miinutes... lights out at 9:30ish... woke up at 5:40 and they were still easily visible. You should have the same results. They'll still be glowing after that long, but keep in mind that they will be dimmer than when you first started. :-)
Have fun!!

I just got mine today and I would like to say...they WORK! Installation was kind of hard with the Sigs Bar and Dot sights but they are worth the money and wait. Trying to figure out a way to put them on my mini-14 now.sigpic United States Air Force Security ForcesComment

Glad to hear you like them!
I don't know whats with shipping this week, but it's crazy. Sorry for the delay. There are a couple other folks that either JUST got their items or are still waiting. Usually it takes 2 to 5 days from order to arrival. /shrug

got mine. Thank you. I installed them on my Para & Makarov. Works as what others here have said. I"charge" them with my LED lite for 1 minute & it glowed pretty bright for about 5-8 minutes & dims from there.
I'm currently leaving my Mak under the table lamp for 15 minutes. Will post update later."Good friends, good food & good wine. Anything else is just a waste of soy sauce.":)Comment

Keep in mind that the BRIGHT glow stays visible a lot less time than the overall glow. I can easily see the long term glow for many hours... through the night easily (generally 9:30ishpm to 5:30isham) Having your eyes acclimated to the dark makes a difference too.
At any rate, let me know what you think!!
