I own the 5" Enhanced Remington R1 1911. It is a good, solid entry level all steel series 80 1911. The front strap checking on the carry R1 is a nice addition. If this is less then $1000 I would say jump on it, if over I would look elsewhere.
My Enhanced is accurate and reliable but I did have to replace the slide stop with a Wilson Combat SS, to use Chip McCormick mags with it. The stock SS was a little on the small side allowing the CM mag followers to jump the bump and hang up the slide. All is well now, to be fair this is not a problem with the two supplied ACT mags.
R1 Enhanced with WC SS and magwell.

Nice looking pistols That Commander version looks very good, although I wish the advertising on the slide was a bit smaller. Too bad they don't undercut the trigger guard a bit though.

I also wish that 1911 manufacturers would stop going for style points with long triggers and put short triggers on some models so many people would have the opportunity to see if they shoot better with them.

Still hate the rollmark and those serrations. Also, what Redcliff mentioned, but I guess that's to be expected at the pricepoint.

I like it. I'd buy it only if it came in 9mm and with an alloy frame. Are there plans to release such a pistol?

For the price they could have fit the beavertail better, but other than that it looks like a good 1911. I am also with Cyc Wid It about the roll marks and cocking serrations.
