Airsoft

I didn't see a separate forum for this so I will ask here. Where is the best
place to buy an airsoft pistol? Specifically one which is similar in size and
shape to a springfield xd? Also supplies? Do those of you who use airsoft
feel that it is a good training method for real shooting?
In light of the ammo shortage, I'm contemplating going that route.

In very limited ways it could be used to train I suppose... But for the most part, you can't replace live fire and expect to be good with your actual sidearm.

That is true... Although you can also do that with a real XD at no additional cost.

I have an airsoft complement for every carry gun I own plus an AR-15. For the pistols I recommend stick with KWA as a brand. I normally source my training toys from www.airsoftgi.com. Very knowledgeable people with great customer service and decent pricing. That and they have a store fairly close to where I live so if anything isn't 100% satisfactory there's a live person I can talk to.

Keith Garcia uses airsoft to practice in his garage. He just won the 3Gun Nation shootout in Las Vegas ($50,000) When used to supplement live fire it's very effective. Practicing transitions from target to target at speed if very effective. BAM airsoft makes aluminium USPSA targets for your garage.
