Was Really Excited to buy one until i read this online:

Don't worry, you aren't missing out. KelTec pistols are complete garbage.

If you really feel the need to have something similar buy yourself a Ruger LC9. It's the exact same gun when you get down to the design and function. They added a few of those "save you from yourself" safety features and they offer better warranty service and will pay for the shipping if you ever need service, versus long wait times, crumby service and paying your own shipping with KelTec.

That's funny- most KT owners rave about their customer service (myself included).
I had a minor issue with a .380 magazine and they sent me a new one free- didn't even have to send the old one back. And the P3AT is NOT on the CA approved list either- they didn't turn their back on me like some of the 'not for sale in CA' companies.

If you're willing to put some elbow grease into it and do a fluff and buff job (look it up), their pistols work great.

I handled an LC9, compared to the PF9 it's a top heavy over safetied brick. The slide feels like pot metal- it could just be the finish, but the mass and feel reminded me of a Bryco or Davis.

So far my PF9 has been 100% reliable with anything including +p 9mm JHP rounds.

The saddest thing- the LC9 and LCP are COPIES of the Kel-Tecs. Though I wouldn't mind owning an LCP- it's almost identical to the P3AT whereas the LC9 is heavier and bulkier in the hand.

As a form of protest over CA's "unsafe handgun" laws, Kel-Tec pulled out of the CA handgun market.
Which is the reason why no Kel-Tec handguns are on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.

You aren't missing out on anything. I bought my Father a pf-9, it came from the factory with an out of spec trigger bar. It also wouldn't work with any type of ammo including FMJ practice ammo.

One of my Fathers friends bought the same gun after I did. He had the same exact reliability issues with ammo. Unlike us, he sent his back to the factory twice and then ended up selling it just like we did. I feel sorry for the poor soul that about either of those two guns.

I would look into a kahr, or M&P shield.

Actually, in my personal experience they were awesome.
I had just gotten a PF9 and I flew with it across the country in an SKB hard case. Some other contents managed to slide out of their slots and the slide got a chunk of cerakote taken out of it.
They sold me to send them the slide and they would refinish it for free (even though it was my fault the paint job got damaged).
I would call that pretty above and beyond. I never sent it in because it didn't really bother me though.

The only better CS I've experienced is Springfield Armory. They're the best in the industry.

Exactly. I've owned an LCP as well and love Ruger handguns.
I also would prefer the PF9 over the LC9 with the extra "safety" features.

I purchased a brand new PF9, took it to the range, and fired 18 rds. Every single shot dumped the magazine no matter how I gripped the gun. This caused some malfunctions as well. I took the gun back to the shop I bought it from. They fired 3 rds with same experience. Offered to send it back to KT and fix it or give my money back minus ffl, I chose the latter...

if you know an le officer that your close with they can buy it then ttransfer it to you, so basicly once an officer buys it then they can sell it to who ever they want as long as its ppt, no shipping. as far as i know its just the same as selling a pre/off roster gun.
but this is just what iv heard no experiance but prety acurate sorce

What if I gave the le the $ he or she purchases the pistol than gives it to me of course using the correct way of transferring a firearm.?
