Need help getting gastube/handguard back on Pap

Brought my new Pap M92 pistol home, took it apart to clean it, and now I'm stuck:

I cant seem to get the gas tube back on correctly because the rear of the tube wont seat all the way down into the rear sight block to pass the Gas tube securing pin.

anybody had this problem?

I had to whack mine pretty good with a chunk of wood.
