    NFA Trust

Don't know which exact forum this is suppose to go under, so mods move it if need be. I have some idea on how it works. A lawyer sets up a trust to make it so you dont have to have the CLEO to sign off on NFA items (AOWs & C&R sbs/sbr). If you can explain exactly how it works let me know.

Then what is the cost of setting them up? Can any lawyer do it or is one more recommended over the other? I'm in Fresno, so something local would be nice.

    Thanks.

To set up a trust, you'd better talk to an attorney first. Skip the least expensive one and go with the 2nd or 3rd choice. It'll cost you no doubt but for that kind of money, Id rather have other toys than just nfa gun. If something serios would go down in this state or country, the least on everyone's mind would be how your weapon is modified. Search the forums and there are plenty information sites on google search as well.

Just set up my trust via californianfatrust.com it was $600, though I think they have specials from time to time. One thing that surprised me, but might not be a surprise to others is that you can only put NFA items in a trust in CA. Normal firearms can't be transferred into a trust

Anyway, I was happy with what I received and would not hesitate to do it again. There are MANY people who are happy with the Quicken route as well, but due to their parent company's recent cancellation of "firearm related business accounts" I won't do any more business with anything Intuit has its hands in, if I can help it. Guess I'll have to do my taxes the old fashioned way this year...

I've often wondered if the NFA trusts are restricted to one person.

Can we set one up and sell shares to keep adding people?

Example: The trust is valued at $1,000 - Covering 20 people at $50 each.

Google seems to be working now.
