    Question on Ammo Prices

I'm going to start shooting .40 S&W, and I'm shopping for my first ammo purchase. I don't know what is a good price, and what is a gouge price for .40, so I'm asking you kind folks.

Is $120 for 250 rounds of 165 grain FMJ with brass cases (reloadable) a good price for .40 S&W, or should I keep looking?

Walmart in my area has plenty of .40 in stock. A 100 round value pack of Winchester White box is $35.

Don't know about yal, but that 100 rd box of Winchester has many crap rounds. Got 11 FTF, 7 FTE. I know many complain about that brand.

I shot 100 yesterday in a Khar, with no problem.

I've shot a couple hundred rounds worth of the 9mm Winchester white box with no problems in my M&P. Thanks for the suggestion on Walmart for the .40. I checked online and found some in stock at a Walmart near me, and so I ran down and grabbed some. 300 rounds for $105 is much better than 250 rounds for $120.

You can always try Bulletman911 here. Has good prices, 1000 round minimum.
I really like both his prices and his product.

120$ for 250 reloads is a rip off. Even in these times. My Walmart still has .40 stocked.

.40 was about 12 bucks a box a year ago, 50 rounds of quality USA made ammo (average).

Walmart definitely. Winchester 100ct White box 165s just went up to $36, had been $34 for a while. For reference the same value pack was $44 at Big 5. I was able to pick up some 250ct Remington UMC yellow box 180s for $82 back around Christmas.

Both rounds have run hundreds flawlessly through my M&P.
