    moving in a few months

ok so im going to be moving down to california in september for school, i will probably only be living there for about 1 1/2 years or so. i currently have an old lever action rifle, that i dont expect i will ever get any trouble out of. im getting the paperwork done for my ccl in washington. i know it wont be valid in california at all. since im going to be a student not an actual resident i wont even be able to apply for a ccl down there would i? my finance will be moving down with me, but since she's not going to be going to school would she be able to get a ccl for california?

also the gun comes standard with a 15 round capacity magazine, should i get some 10 round magazines for range use while im there?

Where are you moving to? A CA concealed carry permit is possible to obtain depending on the county. I assume since you'll be attending school it will most likely be in a county that is near impossible to get a concealed carry permit.

It kind of hard to get a CCW but it's possible.. As far as the Mag goes.. Yes, it has to be less than 10 rounds...

        You should bring all your:

        HK45 and HK45c
        P30 and P30c
        Walther PPS
        Sig P250
        AR pistol lowers
        HK SP89 pistol uppers
        STI and Caspian frames

Along with you. I'm sure you'll get sick of them all in those early months and want to sell them to me at regular world prices.

if your going to be here a year and a half its not going to be worth trying to get a ccw. its a 100.00 if you get it or not and most likely you wont get it. and if you are down here for a year and a half by law your supposed to get a cal drivers license and a place of residence. so you would be a resident of the great state of kalifornia (u.s.s.k ) even if you are going to school.

Get a loan and buy a bunch of S&W 66 w/ 2.5" barrel, if you can find a 3" then it's gold. Don't worry rivviepop will buy 'em all from you. LOL! Joking ok. But on a serious note, do get one or tow of those, then some of the blued models like a 29 pre-lock in short barrels, STI frames and Caspian single stack frames. Get a loan for 5% and get a return of ahhhh hmmmm... depending on how generous you are. I wish someone gave me a lesson before I moved back to Cali.

Jtroks speaks the truth -- there is a large S&W following in California; so pretty much any guns that are from the 1955-95 period (i.e., not old enough for C&R, but not on the Cali approved list) will be easy to sell. To me. Not Rivviepop. Or Kurac. Or Ivanimal. Or Quarterboregunner.

                Just me.

Oh! Sorry trashman I forgot you guys. Also, don't forget about me. Get me a minty S&W 686 w/ 6" barrel pre lock no mim. So it will be 686-4 and under, I think. S&W nuts correct me if I'm wrong. I'm in norCal so if you are coming this way let me know. Thanks in advance.

No offense to S&W lovers (I count myself one), but I think he'd be much better off with the new HKs, given the size of the premiums involved.

But then it looks like this is more about what people want than what would line his pockets.

Right now the two HK compacts and HK SP89s would far exceed the turn around of anything else I can imagine, in terms of CA premium.

Heck - Cobrays would easily be worth double.

Would it be legal if he purchased Hi Cap mags and sold them disassembled as Rebuild Kits?

                          And yes 10 is okay.

Dont forget to bring all of you FN45s, Kel-Tec pistols. And those cheap rossi 68s are great little cheap handguns. I hear they can be bought on ebay for $100. I bet you'll be picking up a couple of the new ruger striker fired pistols also. Taurus has a nice 45 semi also that you wouldn't want to forget in oregon.

PS, unless you have $10,000 to donate to the Sheriff's campaign, you will not be getting a CCW.
