Glock 21SF in Jail today!!!

I just started the DROS on a Glock 21SF today. It had been on order and it just arrived at the gun store. It feels nice in my hand, cause you all know I had to spend at least 15 minutes playing with it at the gun store while doing my paperwork for the DROS. I can't wait to get it out of jail and play with it some more

Two things I did notice about it while handling it today though. The first is that the trigger is quite a bit more gritty and heavier than the trigger on my Glock 22. The second thing is that I cannot release the slide with my thumb at all. The slide is that tight. I ordered an extended slide release for it so hopefully that will help.

Congrats! I love mine, 2500 rounds and not a single malfunction. Never had a gritty trigger but it was a display model. A little cleaning and polishing might help with the grit.

The trigger will smooth with use (I don't recommend the "25 cent trigger job" as I've seen a number of instances where it was overdone), or you can go to OEM or aftermarket fire control parts to get the trigger more to your liking.

Not being able to release the slide with your thumb is a non-issue. Glock recommends that you withdraw the slide and release it. However, installing an extended slide stop (Glock doesn't call it a "slide release" for the reason just stated) may be a good idea, to enable you to more easily lock the slide open to clear a malfunction or safely unload the pistol.

Congrats! New Glocks have gritty triggers so give it some trigger time. And it's called a "Slide Stop" not a slide lock lever, so just rack the slide to chamber a round.

congrats!!! I had a glock 21 for about 15 years or so before I sold it and I regret that I had to sell it. I was looking at getting another glock in 45acp but decided to get my first 1911... Which I Adore... When I went to pick up my 1911 I fell in love with a compact 1911 and bought that as well lol... sighs, I will get another glock... Its on my bucket list for sure... I just got a lil side tracked. enjoy your new baby. Congrats again, I wanted the SF... I'm all jelly!

if my hands were larger i'd own a G21SF. my son loves his, and after several years of ownership has no complaints about it whatsoever.

Grip is too wide for me, but I had one and it shot the crappiest reloads that were about 20 years old w/o a single malfunction. Very accurate too.

congrats! i just got my 21sf a couple months ago. my slide stop is impossible as well with my thumb. ive thought about getting the extended one as well but not sure yet.
