    45 ACP cost...

At the range yesterday I was gonna rent a 1911 to see how I was gonna like it..
I want one..... After seeing that the price of a box of WWB 45 acp was about $28......I think I'll hold off. I reload and all, but that just turned me way off.....

You can go to Walmart and get a 100 round value pack of WWB for $28

WWB is incredibly pricey as of late. CCI is a much better value and can be found for $13.

CCI's crimp sucks. WWB is better made ammo.

Which Walmart is this or when's the last time you bought it? Last I checked the prices was bumped to over $15.xx since last year when it was 13.00 OTD.

I don't really care whether I use CCI or WWB. If it shoots and doesn't mess up your gun, then it's fine.

I agree with you, but we are simply talking about prices.

It's at a local gun shop here for $12.97 for the CCI Blazer Brass.

Neither will mess up your gun. However I have had problems with the CCI aluminum before.

Stick with the brass and nickel plated brass.

                  WWB $28 for 50?
Must have been the white box self defense HP loads. That sounds about the going rate for that.

Was the price you saw at the range? if so, there's a mark up more substatial than if you purchase from another source.

i dont mind shooting the aluminum cased stuff. i've shot about probably 5000 of it thru kimbers, wilsons and springfields with no problems whatsoever.

Yikes. I don't even pay $28 for Ranger SXT 45+P in 50rd boxes.

That's why I reload. I cranked out about 1300 rounds yesterday for a fraction of the cost of buying factory ammo. Actually, I haven't bought any 45ACP ammo in months.

But, yeah, even the reloading component prices are getting ridiculous.

Reloading is the way to go, especially if you have a progressive press. Casting my own with free scrap lead keeps the component prices down. But when I am short on time and ammo I usually go with the Magtech. Usually goes for 15.99 or less at the local gunstore for 50. Seems to burn fairly clean and accurate enough for me Wal-mart sometimes hs good deals but I prefer to support our local dealer. Kind of mad at wal-mart right now anyways. Has anyone seen what a case of shotgun shells is going for now??? Ridiculous.
