Recoil was manageable. I am not going to lie, because it is flinch city with this gun lol. I loaded a snap cap with the live rounds and caught my self a lot of times.

I did limp wrist this handgun towards the end of my range time because I was getting tired. This is not a good precision/range gun. When I limp wristed, I would get a brass on my forehead. I was suprised that it did not stove piped. It is fun to shoot though! I developed a shooting technique with this gun. I would put the front sight post first and align the rear sight then squeeze the trigger. I am accurate that way with this 3 inch better than taking my time and watching my sight alignment. Here's the target. Upper target was 10 yards and lower was 7 yards.

      Btw, I rented a TRP and I wasn't impressed.

I sold my Defender and bought a TRP. Just had to brake the tips off the 20lpi front grip.

That is one prety lady! Nice 1911, man!
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

Recoil on those small 1911's in .45acp is just short of "fierce" imho. I found I needed a strong very firm grip to shoot them well, riding the thumb safety is definitely helpful imho; I have a Colt Officers LW I purchased new back in the 80's when they first came out along with a Kimber Ultra CDP II.

I too try to persuade people to get a larger, heavier 1911 if they want one just for range use and home defense, but some people feel one pistol can do it all. I've had much better results choosing the proper tool for the job.
with the collection you have, (that i have read here), i am surprised that you haven't aquired an original 451 detonics.
these would seem to be a recoil "rodeo"
That may be a CG first!
