Range visit, various M&Ps and Glocks

I went to Island View in Ventura at lunch to try out a borrowed M&P 40C. I brought my M&P 9 FS and a buddy brought his Glock G17.

I liked the 40C. The recoil was far less than I expected and it shot well. I did shoot it better with the full size 40 magazine and an XGrip. I have big hands and even with the pinky extension magazine, the full size mag felt better.

My friend is a long-time Glock shooter. He really, really liked my M&P 9 compared to his G17. It felt better in his hand, far more comfortable and natural. He liked the trigger, too. I did the DCAEK trigger mod on my 9, but otherwise is stock. I think he will be selling his Glock collection and moving over to M&P.

I decided I want the 40C, but based on the lack of inventory around, it might be many months before I get one (I want to buy new).

    That is today's range report.

    Cool

I like the full size M&P better also, not just the magazine, but the whole pistol. I say tell your buddy to keep his Glocks, and still buy an M&P 9 or 40. Why not have them all?

I sold my M&P 40 to buy a glock. Nothing wrong with it, in fact I really liked it, especially the beaver tail. Will buy another soon. Maybe in 10mm if it's out yet.

I had a mp 40. Great pistol just didnt like the trigger and the mag safety. Traded for a glock. Either way you cant go wrong. Held the m&p compact felt real good in my hands.

Just bought a M&P40c today, long time Glock fan here but it just felt so much better in my hands. I've had 22,23 and was looking to buy the 27 but I don't like my pinky hanging off the end.

I was a huge glock fan (had over 10 glocks at one time). Jumped on the M&P bandwagon for a while. And now back to Glock. Glock is much easier to shoot and work with.

                Frigging A!!!
You were the reason I tried M&P. I seen the beautiful pics of the glock pics that turned into Smith pics. I feel in love with the white lettering.

Anyways show me how to do that.

Me too brother. I already had an outstanding M&P 40, and just ordered two Glocks, a G22 and a G21SF. I have no intentions of selling any weapons. To me weapons are for buying, not selling. They don't spoil on the shelf, so there is nothing wrong with keeping them even if you don't shoot them anymore.
