I wanted to grab a new pistol this semester, glock 17 or 19, just wondering since im not that up on pistols, is there a hype also? have prices increased? what about ammo? and mags?

    Thanks for your replies.

People would pay more than low-ball for a Glock?

Please tell me where you are looking then. I have most definitely seen it in the OC/LA area. Glock 21s that normally sold for under $600 are well over $700 now if you can find them anywhere. Mags are getting increasingly more difficult to find as well. Not only that but the 8 dealers I have talked to all say they have no clue when they will see more Glocks. Get them now.

I just bought a Springfield XD subcompact at Shooters Warehouse in Citrus Heights (Sacramento) a week ago. They had a good selection of Glocks and are keeping them reasonably priced. I appreciate that they are not taking advantage of the "hysteria" and gouging customers! As I recall Glocks were going between $499-$599 depending on model and package.

It seems the hysteria has set in more with Southern Cal then up here. In Northern Cal the issue seems to be more about ammo availability.

                              Blue Label

Yeah but that is a Blue Label (LEO) price. Those are guns that Glock makes and sets aside for LEO's only, and they give a heck of a discount. That discount trickles down through the distributors and finally the gun store.

I got my Glock 21SF for $498 plus tax and dros came to $560 out the door under the Blue Label program. Well I haven't got it yet, but I have it ordered and I hope to see it soon.

I did get the Glock 22 for $440 plus tax and dros came out to $496 out the door. That one I can pick up on the 12th of this month, it is already here and serving it's 10 day sentence in jail.

Under the Blue Label program both of these weapons came with 3 high capacity magazines. A sweet deal offered by Glock.
