1911 frame?

I want to buy a 1911 but I don't have enough to buy the Nighthawk or Wilson Combat I would like. Is there any options to buy a stripped frame like a Caspian? Or is there other companies out there? What about compatibility with slides etc. Thanks!!!!

The irony is, you can easily end up spending just as much trying to build one from a bare frame, and I emphasize BUILD because you cannot simply assemble a 1911.
