    New springfield xd9

I get to pick her up from jail tomorrow and going to oak tree gun club to shoot. Aside from ammo what else should I consider investing in for it. This is my first handgun but am not new to the firearm world.

nothing, i'd get used to it and smooth out the trigger with a few thousand rounds. if its a home defense gun maybe a light and some night sites and some extra mags. my xd45 is stock and after thousands of rounds i havent had any problems,

big congrats!!!! you'll be very happy with the xd... the gun itself is a solid shooter out the box... just get extra mags and ammo and have yourself a ball!

I've had my xd45 stock with over 5k and I've never had one problem...not one hang up anywhere along the line. I've used all types of ammo from lower grain, steel cased, aluminum, brass, reloads and have had not one problem. Needless to say I highly recommend them. Only thing I've bought is a Blackhawk serpa for it.

Congrats. It's def a good shooter. Extra mags would help. Bought mine about 6 months ago and it always make it to the range with me. Next up is trigger kit. Enjoy and be safe.

I have way over 20k through my xd9, 5k since its been cleaned, never an issue. Shoot, wipe down, oil, repeat.

Get more magazines and if you like night sights, get some, I hate them so my gun as all stock. The trigger is decent from the factory, could stand a shorter throw but overall it's the best factory trigger on a plastic gun IMHO
