    He (his dad) will have to actually file the transfer form to put it in his dads name, then you will have to transfer it via PPT from his dad. The paperwork to transfer it to the father doesn't require him to be physically present, and costs $19, can be done via mail. From that point, he can meet you at an FFL to do a standard PPT.

    Selling the gun immediately after transferring it may or may not raise a red flag.. someone else will chime in I'm sure. You'd probably be fine.

    EDIT: Here's the form that he will need to fill out. Father needs to do this, son doesn't have to be present. Keep in mind there is a processing time frame, and you will want to wait until you've received the confirmation letter before doing the DROS.
