    Federal 45ACP ammo

I know this is old news for most of us... but with people unloading their old ammo for profit because of the panic and also whole sellers digging up old stock to throw on the shelves, keep your eyes out for these recalled Federal stuff.

    Federal 45ACP Ammo Recall

No sense wasting money on ammo you can't safety shoot.

I believe this was probably the recall that Federal took in and repackaged the inspected AE 230gr stuff into the Champion boxes and resold it at Walmart for the cheap $29.97 price.

I've heard this story before and I can't believe a well known american ammo manufacturer would risk putting possibly defective ammo back onto the market after recalling it. I've got about half-a-dozen boxes of that Walmart/Federal ammo in my stash! I'm not worried, I just won't shoot it out of a Glock haha.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. I got several boxes I am saving too What I meant was a lot of people believe these were just originally AE ammo that was recalled and inspected to be safe. Here's why:

        1. They were priced surprisingly low

        2. They have large primers whereas the usual Champion 45 stuff has small.

        3. The ballistics info on the box reflects that of AE 45 ACP rounds and not of the Champion line.

        4. They have copper jacketed bullets and not plated/washed.

I've shot several boxes of them before and am quite happy with it. They quite simply probably had thousands and thousands of approved and wanted to do something with them other than throw em all out so they priced them to move quickly. Probably explains why no one has seen these in stock at Walmart anymore.
