To Blu or not to Blu

This stuff looks ok I guess any body use it ??

I have a friend with a 1912 -1911 that's in need of some love, my question for him is does he re blu it or leave it alone ? any moisture makes it get surface rust
and its a great old 45 but I hate to see it rust away every time he takes it outof the case.

what type of case is your friend storing the gun in? the moisture that builds inside the case may be what is causing the rust issue. a case is fine for transport of a gun, but most are not good for long term storage.

      ^^^ this.

imho, your friend would be best off to maintain the integrity of his weapon as it came from the factory; that's a 'no' on the refinish.

that's what i thought; not a good container for gun storage, and probably at the heart of the matter regarding the issue of rust.

read jessegpresley's post again and follow instructions for storage.
