For $700, I would buy it or save your money for a Dan Wesson.

Op: Thanks for opening this thread. Based on what I've read and experienced with the venerable 1911 platform, I say go for it.

Marine aka BoJackUSMC: How's that bad boy been shooting for you @ 9mm? Is it comparable to the Glock 17?

Your SR will be ok mine hasn't objected yet as long as I run a few rounds through it every once and a while. As for your wife if she can deal with the weight of the gun you will be lucky if she lets you shoot her new gun lol.

Looks like it has a slight idiot mark but im very excited! Anyone know about SA warranty? Do they honor it after first owner, just in case something is wrong?

From what I understand, they will honor the warranty. It follows the gun, not the original purchaser. If you opt to do so, you can even send it to SA for a check up-I think $100-and many times, they will do a little extra tweaking for you if anything is out of spec.

I'm sure you can check other threads too that speak very highly of the SA warranty. (Hoping it's o.k. to post about another forum, the 1911forum.com has a section for Springfield Armory).

My Loaded 1911 has been problem free since day 1.

Only thing bad about having 1 9mm 1911 is that your other 9mm handguns will most likely stay inside the safe for lon~g time..
