Great gun, excellent value for the price. I have one and love it.

I had one and loved shooting it. I sold it to finance buying a SA EMP and where as I don't regret getting the EMP I do miss the SR and will be getting another one when I can afford it. Rugers are good guns with a affordable price and Ruger also has a top notch c/s dept.

My suggestion to you is first go to you local GS and handle it to see if it fits you and your wife and make sure that she can rack the slide because it is a little on the stiff side. The SR9c is a good little shooter and you might want to check out the full size SR my daughter loves shooting it and has no problem handling it.

      Good luck and happy shooting

This is the only semi-auto that my wife will shoot. She doesn't like the recoil of anything over 9mm and the SR9c has a small grip that will fit her hand.
So, I recently purchased the full size SR9 also because it retains the narrow grip with the short trigger reach.
Both of the guns are very comfortable and can accommodate small hands.
I will be using these guns to teach both of my teenage daughters to shoot

I really like my SR9c. It is comfortable and always shots great. Out of the 1000+ rounds of various ammo I have put through it, I have yet to have any issues with it and accuracy is dead on. I highly recommend this handgun.

Great gun, good value. I bought one to LTC this year. If buying for the wife, have her handle the gun and try manipulating the slide, it is very stiff. Also, be aware that the slide stop normally will not release the slide if you try to use it as a slide release. There is very little (almost zero) take up in the trigger. Trigger is very crisp and mine measured at 5.5 pounds.
