410 help

I own a Taurus judge in my home state of Illinois. I am in the military and I want to bring it back with me but I heard 410's are now illegal but I have been un able to find any such law. Also if you are not 21 are you able to fly with a handgun following all air line regulations.

.410s are legal but CA law defines SBSes differently than federal law. A normal "Judge" in .410/.45LC is considered a SBS in CA. DO NOT bring it here.

There was a post that asked the same question about a month ago and it is possible I think the answer was yes if you get some legal docs for it the company that posted the info was ten percent guns in sothern cal hope that helps

The trick is to file to have it turned into an AOW NFA item. It'll cost you money for the tax stamp, then you get to put a second pistol grip on it. There are some other issues to work out to be allowed to own an AOW here in CA, so you'd need help getting that set up.

AOW status trumps its status as a CA-Defined SBS. Also, once it's an AOW, you don't need to have the pistol grip on there since the gun itself is an AOW by tax stamp not by features.

Guys, the OP is not 21 yet. He can't buy a NFA firearm and he probably won't get ATF approval to manufacture one.
