Carbon fiber frame for Glock 22

Hey everybody. I'm new to this so bare with me. I JUST became a gun owner and bought a Glock 22 .40 caliber for the house for protection. So far, so good.

Question 1: I was curious if anybody could direct me (or even tell me if they even exist) to where I can find a carbon fiber frame. I saw a gentleman with one, but wasn't able to ask where it came from. Or did he rig that sucker up in his lab at home?

Question 2: What is everybodys preferred ammo to use for a .40 cal? (Name/Grain?). Again it's for home protection, so any input is appreciated.

Thanks again. Just getting into owning, seems like a world all it's own, so any input is appreciated.

I have never seen a CF Glock before might of just had his frame modified.

As far as HD ammo any good quality HP will do the job. Some get really into how they perform in gel test or the latest and greatest. I use Remington Golden Saber, I can usually find it on sale somewhere and it is reliable in all my guns.
I own two Glock 22s by the way, they are great service HD guns.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

There is no such thing as a 'carbon fiber' Glock frame, it's just a decal that makes it look that way.

There are metal frames available, but why would you want one anyway as your factory G22 will easily run 250,000 rounds. I doubt you can shoot that much in your lifetime.

180 grain is the standard for 40S&W, any good quality ammo will do, Federal, Remington, WW.

The carbon fiber frame is a finish you can customize your Glock with. Lone Wolf does it for about $275. There are others you can google but here you go.
Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, the more I look on line, he may have done it himself. There is one place that custom makes them and sells the whole gun, but haven't found anything as far as a "replacement" part.

And thank you for your Military service. I appreciate it.

Start taking firearms training classes, start with something basic like an NRA basic pistol class. Protection with a firearm is 90% you, 10% the weapon. You got the 10% covered, now the real work begins. Its like buying a plane if your not a pilot...its not something just just figure out, or keep handy and expect to be able to fly it in an emergency. Good luck, get training, be safe.

Great advice! Thank you. I do have the gun safety course scheduled and he's planning on going over my weapon with me. (Maybe they're all like that.) Looking forward to getting into the world.
