    Sigs - Single Stack?

Are Sigs single stack? How thin are they compared to Glocks?

I have a P220 and I think it is a big *** gun for being a single stack pistol that only honds 8 rounds. I'd say the grip is noticeably fatter than a Glock.

My 225 is single stack and it's very thin, nothing compared to my Glocks.

          IIRC....

          Single-Stack Sigs:
          P210 9mm
          P220 .45/.38 Super
          P225 9mm
          P230 .380/.32
          P232 .380
          P239 9mm/.40SW/.357Sig
          P245 .45

          Double-Stack Sigs:
          P226 9mm/.40SW/.357Sig
          P228 9mm
          P229 9mm/.40SW/.357Sig
          P250 9mm/.40SW/.357Sig/.45
          PRO

There are thin grips available for most of these. The P220, though a single-stack magazine, has thicker grips so that the overall size of the grip is similar to the P226. These grips can be replaced.

Sig PRO and Sig P250 are double-stack, too.

If you have relatively short fingers like I do, then the "short trigger" does work well on the double stack models.

The 9mm and .40 Sigs aren't particularly big.

You should just go handle them.

The short trigger does change the feel a lot, if you have small hands.

I forgot, what is it they say about men with small hands?

I have seen the .380 ones, but the PPK is smaller and I heard better things, what is the most compact normal Sig design?

                    P239.

The Sig P232 is vastly superior to the PPK.

Eh, I'm still not a fan of the european magazine release.... but the P230/P232 does interest me.

I tried out the P239 in 9mm and was not impressed enough to want to add it to the collection.

I bought the P239 for my gal at the time. Replaced the panels with rubber wrap arounds, and she really liked the gun. With the new P2000 in 9mm, I prefer that over the P239, but it's still a great compact 9mm.

I've always been interested in the P232, tried it out and it gave me a little bite. Fun to shoot, but not as comfortable as the P239 and many other guns.

I want to like the P239... it's one of those "not quite right" guns, to me.

I'd rather carry something else (since it's a carry gun).

The P220 isn't terribly large for a .45 pistol. Some of the newer sig hard grips are larger (I notice because they fit my hand even better). The hogues are a touch slimmer. If trigger reach is an issue, you can put the short trigger on it. My G/F has no problem firing the P220, and she has pretty small hands (std. grips and trigger).

The P225 is great for small hands- which is why I sold mine..

You are also forgetting the ultimate single stack sig- P210

                              1) Some are single stack and some are double stack.

                              2) SIGS has a little thicker, if not as thick, slide. The frame depends on what grips you put in there: If you use Nills Grips, it's just as thick. If you use factory, it may be a little tad thinner. If you use Hogue or Pachmayr, it may be a little thinner. One thing I admit is that SIG pistols have more comfortable grips than Glocks. I am short-fingered and I never had problems shooting these pistols in DA mode especially the larger P220 (Single Stack 45).
