    Breaking in PX4 with Reloads?

I'm picking up my 9mm PX4 this week, so I'm on the hunt for ammo. It seems pickings are slim these days, so I am planning on buying reloads from Serge for use as range ammo, and some jhp for home defense. Is there anything special about the first XXX rounds to go through a new pistol that warrant higher quality ammo, or should I be fine using reloads to familiarize myself with the weapon?

Modern service weapons do not need a "Breaking in". That is a misconception.

I'd say at least do a few hundred rounds of factory first. Some people dont believe that I makes a difference, I do with a new barrel and all based upon out of spec rounds, but up to you your gun. Lol

Agreed, I'd fire the first couple hundred rounds with factory rounds, then you can switch to reloads if you so desire.

I've fired over 2000 rounds of Serge's reloads, those are definitely good to go.

Reloads are fine, as long as they are from a REPUTABLE SOURCE.

Thanks for the quick advice, guys. I think I'll run a few hundred rounds of factory ammo through her before switching to Serge's reloads.

There's a rental PX4 in .40SW at the Burbank Firing Line that has been shot with reloads only. Looks good to me. Good luck!

I don't know what city you're in but the Walmart on Azusa in Azusa had 40 of the 100 ct. white box Winchesters there earlier today for $25 or so each.
