Welcome. You won't be disappointed with the Beretta. Check out the Beretta Forum for the differences between the current models. There are subtle differences between the 92FS, M9A1 and 92A1 that you will want to consider.
Although the 92A1 isn't on The California Handgun Extortion List you may be able to find one used FTF. Personally, I think the 92FS is more visually appealing but I would recommend trying out an M9A1 for the checkered front & back strap, beveled magwell and accessory rail (ugh!).
Find a range near you where you can fire at least one model and handle the other(s) to see what feels best to you. Check back in and let us know what you decide on... -

Where are you located? Inventories are thin right now, but I'll wager that places like Turner's still has a few 92FS' in stock...
