Hey there!
I wonder if anyone else has dealt with a sticky trigger reset on a 97 or similar. I just got this pistol on Black Friday and went to the range once with it. I had not noticed anything funny until I started shooting with it, and then it became very apparent that the trigger did not reset by itself.
Since then I have sent it back for a warranty check, and have gotten it back again just yesterday. The warranty log stated that they polished the trigger bar and staked the trigger pin. Then of course a function test and test fire followed. Now I have it back, and I'll be darned if it still doesn't stick to the rear. When I initially got it from the warranty shop, it felt pretty good, but after handling it for awhile, it started back doing the same thing.
When I spoke with the warranty person the first time, he said there is a spring that is getting hung up between the trigger bar and the frame. That spring is a very thin wire-type spring, the name of which I am unfamiliar with. At first I could see that it was indeed being caught between the trigger bar and frame. This seems to be an intermittent condition and it is frustrating me for sure.
I am wondering if a trigger job is something that has any chance of improving this situation, or am I completely off base? Frankly, I don't have any idea.
Anyhow, if somebody has some good ideas of what will clear up this situation, I'ld appreciate it!
Thanks.
