    question about proof of residency

hey, ive been looking into buying my first handgun and am confused about what i can and cant use for secondary proof of address. i live with two other people but moved in after them so the apartment lease isnt in my name. theres no utility bills that come in my name except for car insurance but from what ive heard that cant be used. the car is registered in my girlfriends name so thats another thing i cant use. i do have a temporary driving license thats pretty recent would that work? other than that any ideas? Paystubs dont work do they?

I would think you could have your roommates write a lease agreement for you? Not sure, but I'm sure the experts will chime in soon.

we were considering that but we think the landlord will raise the price if he finds out more people live here

Can you get added to the car registration. Or look at the cable/internet bill or get it put in your name.

didnt know you can add yourself to registration. i would think they would charge some kind of rediculous fee for that but i can look into it. the insurance bill wouldnt work?

I think it has to be a bill for something that proves you are paying for something at the specific residence that you are claiming.

ASC has the requirements and what can and can't be used on their website.

Get a lease agreement from whoever you pay your rent to.
Make a copy of it. Turn that in as your proof of residence.
Last time I checked, it doesn't have to be from whoever owns the property. A sub-lease agreement would work just fine.
Landlord doesn't have to see this lease agreement between you and your roommates.
