    Guns for my next generation

I'm not sure how to word the title but "guns for my kids" sounded like it could be taken out of context.

A long time ago I set aside a pistol for each of my kids and I plan to give to them when they are old enough. It's something I always whished my dad would have done for me.

Anyone have guns set aside for their future generation?

I'll probably just show them the collection and say "pick one", then cross my fingers it's not the X-5!

I buy 2 or 3 of every gun I own. So when they are old enough I will let them choose.

I would match the gun to their personality. My baby girl would get a easy to maintain striker fired 9mm where my son would use a hammer like his pop. A little more to maintain on his part. I don see my baby girl putting a lot of time in caring for her handgun so it's a glock19 for her sorry I'm keeping my 1911s till death do us part.

Not a pistol but my Remington 521 Junior Target master is the best rimfire I've ever shot. I was going to buy my son a rascal but figured I'd find a 521 for him on gunbroker. Even better, If I can find one in better condition that the one I've got I'll give him mine
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

              Very good topic.

              - U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 (CMP Service Grade Garand)
              - Glock 23 Gen4 (.40)
              - Remington 870 (12 Ga.)
              - Ruger 10/22 (.22 LR)
              - Ruger Mk. II (.22 LR)

The order is a little skewed because they shoot my .22 LR's for marksmanship practice and they are relatively low-ticket items.

Service Grade Garands from the CMP are really nice of late and are going away.

Gen4's are State-of-Technology Glock and will still be fine pistols regardless of if/when a new Gen comes out. (the Gen2's are over 20 yrs old)

My first Shotgun was an 870 and I still shoot it.

Same w/ the 10/22 and the Mk. II.

One piece at a time. (well, Two at a time. )

From now on for me, it will be glock in .40

Standardized weapons for the family, they can buy anything they want after that.

I planned on buying my sone one every year from 1-10, then give them to him. In years 11-20. Then i had another son...yikes, still trying to stick to it. I think I might get a couple stripped lowers this year due to the recent events.
