Yes. Big brother will never know unless you tell them. Serial # doesnt change when you re-finish. Will your FFL do it?
Mine just takes my word for it (if it is on the list)."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Yeah, like he said changing the finish does not hange the serial/registered numberOriginally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I think it should be a misdemeanor with a 1000 dollar fine or 6 months of jail. It should be a felony if done near an open flame.

Theres a lot of confusion about the "not unsafe Handgun Roster" and rightfully so. But the bottom line is that it only regulates what a California FFL can sell from his inventory."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Are you refinishing before or after purchase? That will make the difference. If its already bought you are good to go.I support the NRA, if you are not in, you can't win.

I'm confused about that statement.Originally posted by jessegpresleyYou have to own it first. Then you can do whatever you want with it. Otherwise it needs to be exactly like the model on the list.
I would imagine most FFL's won't look on the ever changing "list" to make sure a perticular gun with all its options are on said list. I know mine won't, he' busy. If the purchase gets rejected it's by serial # right? Does the FFL give a full description of the gun on his paperwork? You know, finish, bbl length, ported or any other mods etc, etc."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Yes to the bold part. No to the serial. The state doesn't know the serial number until the DROS is run. Hand guns are listed by make and model, bbl length, and finish. It must match exactly. If there is no nickel version on the list, then it could get rejected. Better to DROS it first then send it out for the nickel treatment while you're waiting for the 10 days to elapse.I'm confused about that statement.

Thanks for the info.
I have been known to buy from private parties from out of state. I'll start asking more questions before purchase."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
