    S & W Model 29 Silhouette model

Looking to see how much these are going for...??? It has been sitting in a safe for a long long time. Time to change owners. ( I am posting this for my friend)

A little more info will be helpful so we can give you an idea of what it's worth. What is the "dash" model? Overall condition? Does it have the original box, paper, etc?

I talked to him today and he said..."Model 29 -3" with a 10 5/8" barrel...excelent condition. Shot Very Very Little. with wooden presentation case. You will not find one taken better care of. Knowing the owner it is in "like new condition". Original papers included.

A year ago, when I went to my LGS to find out what mine was worth, he pulled out a book and I believe top dollar was $500-600 for an excellent model with box and tools.

Also, a place to get quick benchmark pricing would be gunbroker. Saw a 29-3 Silhouette there for sale not long ago, again around $600.

Right now, there's one for sale with a scope for $1200, way over priced if you ask me.

Personally, once I found out how little mine was worth, $350-400-no box, tools - needs re-blued, I decided it was worth more to keep it than to sell it.

            Tell your friend good luck.

I think guns like that have a niche market, so they're not worth a lot to most people. I'd say most potential buyers for a 29 want the 6 1/2" Dirty Harry version.
