    PPQ vs P30

Had an opportunity today to take a couple boxes of ball ammo (200 Rounds) and head to the range with my P30 and my PPQ.

Both are excellent in their own way. First off I had zero malfunctions in either. Both pistols were/are 100% reliable.

The trigger on the PPQ is hands down the better of the two. The reset is unbelievable. I have never fired a gun with such a short reset. It was amazing.

However as far as overall ergonomics I would give the P30 the nod. While both are great the PPQ has sharper corners at the top of the grip which caused some discomfort digging into the thumb knuckle during recoil. The P30 is more rounded in that location and was absolutely pain free.

Accuracy was great on both. They are far better guns than what my ability to shoot them is.

These are two guns that will taken to the range frequently and both will end up on my LTC..

Oh, and since I am retired it's back to range again tomorrow....

The PPQ is easier to shoot because of the trigger but I favor my P30.

those are my next two guns... if i can find them somewhere. Ever since I shot my friend's PPQ and P30L, I've been drooling over them. Any one know where I can get them in the SF Bay Area?

The PPQ is a horrible gun. In fact, I'll do you a favor Treb and take it off your hands for you! lol. The PPQ is next on my list of handguns I want to buy.

I must say, I REALLY like my P30S 9mm---a superb shooter---great ergos---totally reliable. I also like Walther pistols in general (but not the mystery-metal P22 or their 380)---I could definitly own a PPQ, but perhaps my current financials would like me to wait. In the meanwhile, I'll just shoot the P30S and it's little friend, my P2000 (also in 9mm).
Oh, and the P30 "trigger" issues some folks complain about? My example actually has a very nice and smooth DA, followed by a very reasonable SA---the take-up on the SA is a little long, but I am quite used to it. I am fortunate enough to shoot many many pistols (and revolvers) with different trigger systems and am able to deal with pretty much all of them.

Both great guns, I love German striker fired goodness ppq and the p30 even tho its pricy, it's up there with the best.

I have a cz p01 with 4mags, nite sights, ect. I'm trying to trade for a ppq or p99 QA

my P30LS is my favorite handgun. the tigger is not perfect but it works well for me in Action pistol shooting. only complaint is after 150 to 200 rounds the trigger bar bite on my finger is a little irritation.

I hope Walther makes the PPQ with a 5 inch barrel
