    Berretta Vertec 9mm

Went to the range this weekend to try out my new birthday gift to myself a Berretta Vertec 9mm pistol. Looks great feels nice not as bulky in my hand as I thought it would be. I don't have to reach awkwardly for the trigger like I did with my Glock because of my small hand's. I also took my XD40 for some comparrison shooting. I also purchased a 96f magazine for berretta to see if it would work well enough to shoot with. Target was about 50ft out and the XD went off without a single malfuction as usual even after three previous trips to the range without cleaning. The Berretta I picked up on friday and cleaned it just before going to the range. I started noticing after about a 100 rnds through the Berretta a hesitation to feed into the chamber. At the time I didn't think that the 96f magazine might have been the cause of the failures to feed. I know a lot of you are more experienced than myself in this area and I don't want to be dissapointed when I don't have cause to be. Any feed back?

    Sincerely

I have well over 15K rounds through my 92f without a single problem. That influenced me to get another Beretta. My Vertec has about 1K rounds without a hiccup. I find the Vertec's trigger a lot nicer than my 92f. I haven't felt any hesitation in the cycling of rounds through the Vertec. What exactly did you feel? Did the rounds feed properly? Did the slide feel sluggish?

      Vertec

      The 96 magazine is a 40 S&W mag and you're gun is 9MM.
How does it perform with 9MM mags? Although these mags are very simular the do make specific 9 and 40 mags for a reason. Berettas are a very reliable gun

I did feel hesitation in the feeding but I do believe it was do due to the fact that I was using a .40 cal. mag in the 92fs. It felt like it was dragging across the top of the magazine then loading the round in place at the time I just thought it was due to fouling but I thought a Berretta should be able to endure more than 200 rnds without a malfunction. I know my bad!, 96f in a 92 just was trying to experiment. I appreciate your feedback I don't want to make a hasty decission and get rid of it when I don't have to. My dealer lectured already "Don't experiment with your gun David!" Thanks guys.

My Vertec is my primary carry piece and I've never had a problem with it in the 1k + rounds I've put thru it. It meets my needs splendidly and is all I could expect in a carry weapon. I don't use 96 mags in it though.....
