    next purchase???

Alright so I have been searching and roaming the site and the internet for about a month now trying to figure out what pistol I want to get but I have a dilemma. This is going to be my only larger caliber handgun for quite a while (I have a Ruger Mark III Competition) because my money needs to go to other things, like stocking up on ammo haha. I want a semi and I want a hammer...call me old-school but I like a hammer for safety. I have been debating between a 1911, the history behind them makes them one of my favorites, a CZ, loved the feel of them, orrrrr a Sig. I also can't even decide what caliber. 9 or .45....

Like I said, this is going to be my only larger caliber pistol for a while so this is going to be my go to. I will be taking it to the range for fun but it will also be for HD and will be on me once I move out of state.

I am leaning more towards a 1911 .45 but I also like the CZ and how stinking accurate they are.

I plan on reloading so .45 won't be as bad so don't worry about the price difference.

I also have an AR-15 and a 12 gauge if that helps any.

So what do you all think? And I know everyone has their own opinion but I would really appreciate the input because I can't make a dang decision and I really want to pick something so I can start stocking up ammo and what not.

    Thanks for your time fellas!

You have to at least have 1 1911.

search is your friend, go rent a 1911 - Sig - Glock or whatever you are interested in and find what you shoot accurately and go from there.
I support the NRA, if you are not in, you can't win.

        I agree, everyone should own a 1911.

+1. If reloading, ammo cost is not a huge concern. Everyone has to have a 1911...

i want a 1911 badly, but cant afford it because i have a happy trigger finger and .45 gets expensive.

            maybe in a couple years...

i say go 9mm so ammo is cheaper and go with a CZ. I'm biased though. I do like Sigs however, but they're pretty expensive ($200+ more).

get a Dan Wesson 1911, which is now CZ, so you can get both a CZ & a 1911, 2 birds with 1 stone.

I love my Dan Wesson PM-7

              yes everyone needs a 1911...

              I love my Sigs too...

Like previous posts, goto the range, shoot them all, and buy the one most comfortable in your hands and you're most accurate with.

I appreciate everyone's response. My problem is I've shot all of them and I'm very comfortable with every single one of them. I'm a big guy I'm 6'8" and 245...so there isn't really a platform that I have shot that I am weary of.

I am leaning 1911....any real huge reason I should go to the other 2 that I have overlooked?

I say get a 1911, only flaw about buying 1911s is that once you buy one. You will want them all.

I say get a 1911 AND a CZ. You won't regret it...but, if you can only get one now, I'd definitely get a 1911 first. I have a sweet spot for them.

Check out Dan Wesson 1911's they are excellent firearms and don't have brand names billboarded all over their slides like every other 1911 out there.

I'm going to agree with everyone else and say 1911, especially if you don't have a shooting preference between your choices. You can customize it and really make it your own. I was in a similar situation and I chose to get the 1911. Now that I have one, or soon after its out of jail, everything else is secondary.
