Anyone successfully SSE and M&P Shield? I am not content to wait for the DPRK mandated Shield mutation. So, I am looking for a non mutated Shield which US citizens get to buy and SSE it.

What area of the state are you in? Here in the SF Bay Area, I've contacted every SSE FFL within a reasonable (hour, give or take) driving distance from me and none of them have the parts to SSE the Shield right now. Maybe someone down south can do it. There's also the issue of actually finding a Shield that's available for them to sell to you.

The hard part about getting an SSE Shield, is finding a non-mutated Shield. They are still in very high demand outside of PRK.

Sac Firearms Transfer (the FFL that did the SSE in that thread) only does the Shield in .40, so if looking for a 9mm, the hunt continues...

I have a question: If I buy a Shield off Gunbroker, do those have to go through the SSE process?

When did the Shield require the SSE process? I thought they made a CA compliant version.

I believe so, unless the seller is an individual (some of the sellers on GB are FFLs) living in California, in which case the sale could be carried out by PPT, which is exempt from the roster. If the seller is an FFL or an individual from out-of-state, then the sale has to go through an FFL in CA, and they would not be able to give you the gun without SSE.

Which still isn't available anywhere. Also, some folks here don't want the CA-mandated features.
