I have a number of 40 cal glock mags from a gun I sold yrs ago. Will those 40 cal mags work in my 9mm glock?

No they will not. Please do not try and load any ammunition that is not meant for the particular magazine or try to put a 40 cal magazine in a 9mm or the other way around.

Not that I'm recommending it, but in Glock's, the .40 cal mags (22, 23) will fit the 17, 19, 26 frame. When loading .40 mags with 9mm, it will be difficult getting them to stay in on their own (in fact they won't, except for the occasional odd round) because of the feed lips, so loading the mag into the gun without them all flying out will be the tricky part. However, it will work, and I've never experienced any feed problems or malfunctions while using the incorrect magazines but correct ammunition. Just for your own reference; a 10 round Glock 23 mag will hold 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Again, I'm not recommending this, but simply answering your question with my experience.Comment

in my experience glock 40 sw mags feed 9 just fine. havent had a miss feed yet and I have around 500 through my wolf 9mm barrel.
I recently had steve at steves gunsmithing clean up the ramp a bit on my 23 because I was shooting a bit of 40 sw hollow points and had a feed issue.
