Sig ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform)

Works with most pistols too.

I think consensus is that it creates a super dangerous and criminal "barrel shroud", hence making it an illegal pistol in CA

Plus it's heavy and expensive, and a bit mall ninja

I think in a free state, it would be cool with a folding stock and tax stamp

Solution looking for a problem.

a buttstock makes it an SBR. If you are get a stamp, spend the $ and get an MP5.

I actually seen a floor model at my local gun store they had it on a dummy gun I held it and I was like na. It's to huge and it adds more weight and for me it just scream out look at me I spent 350 on a rail for my hand gun ... And the ca models don't come with the folding stock or any outher models cause as soon as its on it turns the acp into a SBR so only military and Leo's can have it unless you want to pay for the tax stamp

Looked at it, just don't see the point. The three points with the sling might give you more stability but so what. Not worth the money for what is really a cool gimmick. Just a little more and you can PPT a used Glock. A little bit more than that and you can buy a used Sig. I'd rather have another gun than a pricey doo-dad.
Also not sure they hold their value if you decide "eh, that was stupid" (and we've all done that) and you post to sell it used. Narrow market for it for sure though.

Sig makes a new SMG if you're really into that kind of thing. Remove the stock and add a BB and it's legal.

Perhaps I've been in CA too long, or read ATF decisions too often, but it seems to me an agency that can classify a rubber band as a machine gun or determine that a handgun reconfigured as a rifle doesn't really become a rifle is more than capable of deciding a sling can be a stock and that in this fashion creates a weapon designed to be fired from the shoulder.

I could be way off and very wrong, but this does cross my mind.

That would be geared toward Military mostly. It is a Personal Defence Weapon (PDW) that would be issued to tank drivers and Pilots that don't have the room for a full sized rifle. PDWs are for self defence in combat areas. I can See that as a good option for a downed pilots survival bag.

It serves little to no purpose.

"Oh it increases your sight radius", but it still on a pistol ie 3.5-5" barrel so that extra 1" of sight radius is not gonna help the fact your still shooting pistol rounds.

"Look it has rails and you can put optics on it!" Ever heard of RMR? Pretty sure plenty of people are running them on pistols without adding all that extra weight to a PISTOL.

"I haz a stock" Why? Its still a freaking pistol.

A lot of extra mass and weight for nothing, might have a bit of merit on an auto pistol ie G18/93r but hey, the ACP doesnt fit those. Sig said it themselves, the ACP will have compatiability issues with non Sig pistols.
