Aaaaaaaand pumped up about it! Haha. Does anyone have any recommended upgrades or any known problems with the 34? What kind of ammo do you guys use?

25 cent trigger job and all the cheap ammo I can find are what feeds my G34, its really a pleasure to shoot.

              Shoots anything.
I's drop a stainless guide rod, about 20 bucks with captured spring.
Down the road, might want to change out the sights.

Your GF is the best upgrade bro! Most guys have to buy their own guns.

No upgrades needed unless you want to get different sights but that is preference not operating function

                        as for ammo
if it is a gen4 stay away from the walmart federal 115 grain as it is rather underpowered and people are having issues with the brass hitting them in the face.

personally I stay away from most 115gn ammo anyway. I am in the state of mind that any pistol that will cycle 115gn ammo will cycle 124gn better. There may be an exception but I have yet to find it.
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

A holster, some mags, and go to an idpa match.
