1911 Recoil Spring Guide question

Hello,

basically should the recoil spring guide be tight or loose? I was cleaning my gun the other day and noticed that in certain parts of the slide it was tighter, mainly towards the slide stop area. Thanks for the help.

It shouldn't matter, when it is under spring tension, it'll be tight. This part doesn't have to be tight however.
