    Need some opinions

This may be in the wrong forum but I am looking for advice here. I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

On 11/30 I met up with fellow calgunner "velomir" to look at his FMK 9c1 Gen II 9mm he had for sale in the private sale forums here

I asked velomir why he was selling his gun and if he had had issues with it. He said he was selling it to get a 40cal and that he hadn't had any issues with the gun. I then asked if I could fire the pistol to which velomir said yes. I fired 2 mags through it without issue. We went ahead and proceeded with the PPT and the Range/FFL where we met.

Fast forward to today, while waiting for my gun to be released to me I decided to dig around a bit and find some non professional forum review on the gun and the differences between the Gen I and Gen II. All of the sudden I stumble upon this post

I just joined this site. The reason I joined this site is because I simply have to vent to someone. I was at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg PA this past Saturday. We go every year for the fun of it. I usually do not buy much when I go. "Show Specials" are not always specials...

    Where velomir states
"David, if only you had lived up to those words and offered me some consideration for all the trouble I had with the 9C1 I would still be a happy customer. Instead you passed the buck and outright ignored me. I sold the headache you call the 9C1 after giving you ample opportunity to rectify the problem, your customer care is non existent!"

Naturally this makes me concerned, so I contact velomir via text message asking him what issue he had with the gun and I referenced the post he made over at handgunforums.net. I want to know so that I can take the gun in to my friend who's a gunsmith and have him take a look at it. I told him that this gun is for home defense and if there are any issues with jamming, failure to feed/eject that I need to know about them. I don't want a gun with known issues being my HD gun without having the issues rectified. His response to me was that the headaches and issues with the gun were actually just the manufacturer. He stated that they are unresponsive in his request for accessories. I have a feeling that there is more to this story as I cannot see how his above post to handgunforum.net has anything to do with accessories. I can tell he is upset with the customer service of FMK but I feel like his choice of words means that he's had mechanical issues with the firearm.

Firstly, I realize that this was a PPT, and its buyer beware so I am guessing there isn't a recourse. Even if there was I do like the firearm and I am not looking to renege on the sale, I just want to make sure that the issues velomir is stating are the issues he is referencing in his post on handgunforum.net

I guess I don't really know what advice or opinions I am looking for, I am just venting my concerns and hoping velomir is telling the truth. My best bet is to probably have the gun checked out by my friend either way at this point.

Edit: further texts from velomir have revealed that he was unhappy with the trigger and was attempting to get the fast action trigger (lighter pull and shorter travel) from the manufacturer. That makes sense with what he wrote on handgun forum.net. Just wanted to update my post.

My opinion would be to dump the 9c1 for a used Glock. There are few modern handguns that I'd downright reject for defensive use, but anything FMK would be one of them.

I read velomir's posts and some of that thread, and I can see why it'd make you anxious but it's also consistent with the seller's story. Now that you own the gun, the best test of its reliability is to shoot it about 1000 times. Then you'll know if it works.

Yeah, thats what I updated it with the info he gave me. It was more of a dislike for the guns trigger than a problem with the gun itself. I was ok with the trigger when I fired it, it was more about the way it was described that made me uneasy. The air has been cleared now though.
