Glock 20 long slide complete - does this look right?

    Fellas,

Just got my Lonewolf 20 long slide...i had it sent to Mark @ L&M precision to add an RMR added and have it refinished.

When I add it to a 20SF lower, the frame gap seems unusually large. I have looked at other frame fits online and they do not seem nearly as pronounced.

Other than how it looks, is this anything functionally to be concerned with?

    Is that a threaded barrel?

Just looked at my G23 and I see a similar gap, but your slide seems to have a beveled edge so maybe that is why it is more obvious? Also the areas that look white/stainless within the gap are black on mine so maybe that is one more thing that adds to the look.

If the thread protector is permanently fixed I believe you are fine.

Yeah, that or a bullet button. Permanently fixing a thread protector means you can't remove the barrel from the slide. So... if that's "fine" for you then okay.

OP -- I'm assuming by your trader rating and such that you are well aware that a threaded barrel on a semi-auto pistol is a violation of CA's assault weapons laws, so I'm sorry I even brought it up. I'm sure it's not what it looks like.

DeLaSeoul, I just pulled out my 20SF, which is stock except for a KKM .40 barrel. The slide to frame gap looks pretty similar. I'd say that you have nothing to worry about. The gap is just more obvious as the barrel stands out against the dark frame and slide.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

OK...Grumpy and Distro...thanks for clarifying. I'm sure it's just the beveled edge and color contrast.

What sights are those & do they co-witness with the RMR? Most guys running RMR'd Glocks use suppressor sights so that they still have back up irons if the dot malfunctions. That is one sick setup. With the flat shooting 10mm (especially through a 6" tube) & the RDS, 100yd targets will probably almost feel like cheating. Nice build.

i'd be more concerned about the threaded barrel than the gap considering you don't have a BB and your location says Bay Area....

This build wasn't for competition...more just because i wanted something i could use for long range plinking for giggles.

i have suppressor sights on my G19 RMR setup and find them to be somewhat of a distraction. these are takeoffs i had laying around which i added in case i decide to pull the RMR and use just the standard sights. I have a matching cover plate I can use to fill the gap.

How about we just stay on topic, and let him worry about whether or not he has a threaded barrel (which has NOT been established as a fact). Until then, leave it alone. He may have dual residency in another state. He may travel outside the state/country a lot. It may not even be a threaded barrel. Either way it doesn't matter, because it doesn't involve you.
