Dry fire Glock 23 safe or not?

I want to practice drawing, and firing my new G23 but I don't want to cause any damage. I have always heard you don't dry fire period so I never have. Is there a dummy round you can buy to dry fire if needed? Thanks.........

Yes, they're called snap caps. Available at any local gun store, anywhere online, and likely at your local Wally World or Big 5.

Dry firing your glock will not hurt it. Don't bother with snap caps.

Generally, center-fire is okay.

It's done once for a Glock field-strip anyways.
If a snap cap gives you peace of mind, the small cost is worth it.

Depends on gun I would worry a little bit more, some not.

Rim-fire is a no most of the time, some have a block, lots don't.

Snap caps aid in the practice of manipulating the slide as well...

Dry firing a Glock is fine.
