Service Pistol CMP Help

I'm shopping for a 1911 for Service Pistol CMP with 3.5k budget with room to spare. Any recommendations?

Most SVI pistols are not intended for or are CMP legal. Consider the Baer 1911 National Match Hardball for off-the-shelf shopping. Or start simpler and save the rest for practice ammo.

Looking for the same thing...

You can go two routes:
1911 or M9

You can easily go with a Les Baer DCM Match for like ~$2000 but I'm searching for an M9.

I love my 1911s but if you're wondering why an M9: Easier recoil, cheaper to reload and many of the current records have been made with an M9. All that means easier to shoot, shoot more and M9s are competitive.

An out of the box tuned M9 is difficult to find. I've seen so much dirt on mountain competition pistols that it has made me wary. Otherwise there is David Sams who was THE AMU pistolsmith for the M9.

Wow. Really? I take it back then. I thought that they had some variations that are CMP ok. My bad!
