Fenix TA20, solid flashlight. I own a PD30, PD32, LD20, and 2 TK15's as well. TK15 on the AR, Surefire on the bedside pistol and the TA20 next to it.

i'm a Surefire fan. i've gotten some very good deals from LA Police Gear on closeout sales of Surefire flashlights.
i also have several older 3D Maglites in my home and in the truck; i've had them since the late 1980s and use them as 'general purpose' flashlights.Comment

...for the money, I really like these. I've purchased more than 36 of them (for guys at work), and not one problem. They are super bright, just slightly less than my Streamlight 88040 ProTac HL rated at 600 lumens. And for $20 each shipped (with 2 rechargable 18650 batteries & a charger), you can have spares. Everytime someone sees them in use, they ask how to get them...

i use a pelican 7060 for nightstand duty (along with my novatac 120p edc for the more mundane tasks); however, if you're considering a dual purpose torch that'll provide the added option to pocket carry, i'd recommend a surefire e1b backup.Originally posted by GraybeardSeriously the quality of some of the posts on here has gone waaaaayyyyyy downOriginally posted by cannonYou have not been here long enough to see how low they can really go.Comment

my Surefire E1B Backup has been a great little flashlight.
LA Police Gear carries it for $112.00, which is a very good price.

I just bought the streamlight protac hl. Dual mode 600 lumens on high and 35 lumens on low. It also has three programmable settings for the light acuation and even a strobe setting. To me, it was a clear choice. Lots of features. Huge amount of light. Affordable price ($70 or so from amazon). At 600 lumens at night this thing will blend the hell out of anybody, shoot I practically blinded myself from the reflection of the light off a bar white wall. Hahaha.Comment

Prometheus is the new home of Foursevens ! If you missed the acquisition announcement you can read about it in this >> link << Future product changes: Over the coming months, Prometheus will roll out updated/upgraded versions of most of the Foursevens line. Changes will most likely include: new UI, higher CRI LEDs, improved pocket clips, rechargeable batteries, and modest price increases. Announcements will go out to the mailing list when these changes are finalized. Sign up at the bottom of the page. Customers will have the opportunity to pre-order the updated lights. However, if there isn't enough interest, we will retire the product. Basically you folks get to vote on (with your dollars) which Foursevens products will continue. So, these changes aren't huge, but if you want a legacy Foursevens light you better grab this stock while it lasts. Legacy Foursevens Warranty Information (coming soon!) : Please check the "warranty" page for the current status and explanation of how Prometheus is dealing with warranty issues on legacy Foursevens lights.
I've got a this one on my nightstand.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

Lots of great lights out there. I don't know your budget, but for me I use the Polytac HP as my "tactical" light that I keep near my loaded HD pistol. Very bright with lots of throw, or distance to it. Plenty bright enough for inside most houses. Should be able to get one for well under $50 if you shop around. US made and lifetime guarantee.
Personally, I don't like multi-mode lights for the purpose we're talking about here. I want a simple on/off switch that gives me full power NOW without clicking through seven other levels of strobe and brightness. Just my opinion, good luck.NRA & CRPA member

I like the Fenix LD20 or E25 or TK35. Fenix makes good lights. The TK35 is an output beast in a small package, the LD20 is very flexible AA powered flashlight, and the E25 is their economy model with fewer settings than the LD20 but just as much output. I carry a PD20 or PD30 as my EDC depending on where I'm going.Last edited by sholling; 11-24-2012, 7:32 PM."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--
