^ GI or higher model does not make a difference.
There is only really 2 more popular rod guides styles; barrels with bushing, and bull barrels.

This one fits the barrels with bushing:http://www.midwayusa.com/product/630...tainless-steel
Get a one-piece, just my preference, happy shopping

The Wilson part # 25 G is for Government Model 5" barrel pistols and the Wilson part # 25 C is for Commanders with their 4.25" barrels.

Although I only use full-length guide rods on bull barrel 1911's personally, the 25C should work fine on your Commaner.

"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
