SW MP 45 @ 800 rds

Did a range session yesterday, and I am pleased to report the MP 45 is a fine weapon. It is settling in nicely, and I am getting used to her.

At 800 rds, still not one malfunction. Cleaning between shoots takes about 10 minutes and consists of a good spray-down, bore snake, and air compressor blow-off. I follow-up with the proverbial "light coat of oil" out of habit.

Accuracy is very good now, and dead-on. This weapon points exceedingly well, better than any I've held. That's saying something from a guy like me who grew up shooting M1911's and Browning HP's. The MP 45 delivers 100% 10-ring hits, quick point shooting at 7 yards. Awesome. Double taps are as easy as with a 9mm, and mag changes can be conducted without missing a beat.

My only gripe at this point is the mags are hard to load to full 10-rd capacity.

Otherwise, buy one if you need a SD Handgun.

I had multiple failure to feeds with mine... had at least 1 sometimes 2 per magazine... Sold it with 50+ rounds through it. Glad yours is doing good. I had high hopes for mine since I cant get an HK45

I found it very hard to load the last round also. It looks like the cartridges are not stacked correctly in the tube. It should be alternating (left, right, left, right) as you look at the top round on down to second round, third round, etc. but somewhere around 5-7 rounds, it looks like there are 2 rounds on the left (left, right, left, left).

I'll have to look at it more carefully next time to see what the problem is.

It's a great gun, but not that great! lol

The last round in every M&P seems difficult to load. It helps if the mags are kept topped off for a few days.

I got my M&P with 4 mags ( 2 from rebate), I bought the HKS loader (452) and load easy without hurting my thumbs.
I shot 1000 rds throught it with no jams at all but 1 exception I try 1 box of CCI brass($12) and got 6 jams from that 50 rd box, also my gun was very dirty after that CCI

I had one FTE from a wolf steel cased 9mm from my mp9 in about 100 rds of wolf mixed with about 150 rds of wwb. I was very surprised that only one FTE. But then, it was not NIB when i got it, already broken in.

Oh, and i used the new polymer coated wolf, not the old lacquered ones. Those would surely suck bad in a MP

I love my M&P45. The natural pointability is Grrreat.

I really want an M&P45 midsize and compact too - not on the list, guess I'll have to find a legal way around that.

You know, there's nobody I'd ever wish this punishment on..nobody! Of course I'd wish for other bad things to happen to people like getting in a car wreck because they're yappin on their phones and not paying attention, but I'd NEVER want someone to have to wait 10 twenty-four hour periods to gain possession of their legally purchased gun. That's just cold.

Took my MP45 out for a spin with some American Eagle 230 gr ball ammo. I made the mistake of warming up with a .22 1911 conversion kit that I recently acquired. It was fun shooting .22LR's for almost an hour. Then I picked up the MP45 and BAM, the recoil was harder than a 1911 .45, similar to my commander SW1911 PD. I had to look and make sure the ammo wasn't a +P variety. I am a sissy !!!

I have to go out and compare it with my glock, 1911, Sig, and CZ's to see whether I will believe all the claims that recoil on the MP is a *****cat

just a quick WRONG! Go the other way. I shoot the .44mag first then go down to .45 then to .357 then to .22 after all the heavy stuff I'm 99.9% on center.
