    Springfield XD-M

What stores carry these in the Bay Area, CA? I'm looking for the 3.8 with the full size frame.

I know for sure that Valkyrie Arms in Santa Clara does SSE on those. If they don't have the one you want on-hand, they'll order it for you.

I've heard horrid things about them on this forum. Checked them out on Yelp and it's approaching a slaughterhouse. Not so?

According to everyone else they are the worst, but i have only had good experiences there. Only negative is that they force anyone who PPT to purchase one of their cheap locks. Even if the firearm comes with a lock.

Next time i PPT im going to oblige with their "rule", and then just donate all my other locks that i purchased from them for PPTs.

I called Valyrie Arms the other day and they don't have them in stock. For the members here who own them, how do you like it?

I like it over my Sig Sauer 2022, both in .40SW.

I have the XDM 9mm 5.25 Competition. Outshoots my G34 but not my SP-01. But what do I know. That said, it's a great gun.

Those are the 2 guns I'm deciding on. SP01 or a XDM. Which feels better in your hand between the two?

I'm very happy with my 3.8 XDm 9mm. But only after I installed the PRP trigger kit. The stock trigger has a long mushy trigger out of the box. Some don't mind it, but I was spoiled by my 1911.

And FYI the striker retaining pin on the XDm will crack if you dry fire it too much without a snap cap. VA warned me about it, but I had to see for myself. It cracked after a few hundred dry fire drills. I replaced it with a spring steel pin and I doubt it will ever crack again.

But other than that, I've fired 1100 rds without a single failure.

My buddy shoots an xdm40 3.8 and loves it. His brother who has a g23 regrets buying it after shootin the xdm. He was gonna sell it off but when I told him he wasnt going to get what he expected he just kept it. Two weeks ago he showed me his slide bites on the web of his hand.

Well, the SP-01 is a heavy beast but it really out shoots everything I own. It has a trigger job though and comp hammer. The XDM Comp is in my top three though, shoots better for me than the G34.
