    Armalite To Make Hanguns.

All right! More new stuff to drool over in the future. Of course I meant handguns in the thread title.

      i checked out those guns....

they all seem to be similiar to the CZ line of pistols and shotguns....

I wonder if they are of the same the quality as the CZ brand.......

They are made by Sarsilmaz in Turkey, who bought tooling from Tanfoglio. Definately a CZ clone, as are the Witness. I understand from a quick glance over on the CZ Forum that they have made a few tweaks that the Turkish military required, including converting the firing pin to a 1911 style.

It's not enough that all the cars these days look alike, the guns have to be clones of each other, too. Hey, I got an idea...go back to the drawing board!

Anyone want to start a gun company? I'm a mechanical engineering student with solid model design experience..get two more engineers, a business/marketing person, an administrative assistant, and a front desk clerk, and we're set! We'll make NEW things and everyone will love it.

Hey, the more CZ clones the better. Maybe if there are enough clone lines out there, people will stop thinking the Glock and 1911 are the only two guns in the world.

Unless these new handguns are going to have a chamber loaded indicator or magazine disconnect there's no point in talking about them too much because they'll never be sold here.

I swear the law by Koretz and Merrilees is EXTREMELY much more insidious than a lot of people think it is. It will, over time, essentially outlaw semi-autos... they're just going to use that saftey test law to keep on making it harder to sell here.

Heck the XD45 even has a chamber loaded indicator and that can't be sold here!

what i dont understand is, if a gun that fires without the magazine in place, will it be banned even if its on the approved list? Or is it just new guns cannot get on the list?

Nah, the old ones already on the list get grandfathered in. Luckily a few like the Steyr M9 were able to sneak on there in the last few days.

I thought that in 2006, new handgun submitted must have one or the other, but in 2007 and beyond, they must have both? So couldn't the XD45 still be added later on this year?

Correct re: the '06 vs '07 thing. Although interestingly enough, a bunch of FFL's seem to think we're already in '07...
